The Registration Desk for SWCO 2009 will be located on the Ballroom Level outside the Hamilton Room. Please register as soon as possible after checking into the hotel to obtain your badge and registration packet. Both Pre-Registration and On-Site Registration will be located in the same area.

Conference Schedule

Lectures are scheduled in segments of one or more hours. No "half" hour credits will be issued. O.D.s will be able to attend 6 hours of lectures on Friday, 8 hours on Saturday and 5 hours on Sunday.

Refund Policy
T
he SWCO's meeting registration fee buys your nametag which is your passport to continuing education courses, the exhibit hall, the Friday AOA luncheon and the college receptions.  Choose as few or many hours of education as you wish.  If after registering,  if you find you cannot attend SWCO, refunds less a $35 service charge are available through written request up to one week prior  the meeting.  No partial refunds are available.  No refunds will be issued for Exhibit Hall Only Passes.  No refunds will be issued after March 5, 2009.

Cellular Phones and Pagers
As a courtesy to presenters and your fellow attendees, the AOA requests that cell phones and pagers be turned off or set to silent during all Conference functions. Please take your phone call outside Conference function rooms.

Continuing Education
SWCO 2009 is an AOA Continuing Education provider. Courses offered are creditable to Category 1 of the Optometric Recognition Award Program.

Accreditation
Southwest Council does not assume the responsibility that a course will be approved by your state board.  It is the responsibility of each doctor to know his/her state requirements. COPE approved courses will have the COPE number printed on the meeting schedule. Attendees will be able to attend COPE approved course hours for all available CE hours.

Attendance

OE Tracking will continue to be used at SWCO 2009. This year we have eliminated the paper attendance forms. You will be required to enter your OE Tracker Number on your registration form
OE Tracking Information can be downloaded from the ARBO website. 
You can lookup your OE Number at www.arbo.org by clicking on the OE Number Lookup on the left hand side in the green box. By entering your SS# your OE number will pop up.

Schedule
Every effort has been made to ensure that schedule changes will be kept to a minimum. Any change will be posted in the Registration area at the meeting. The "Conference Program" in your registration packet will be the official program and will supersede previous mailings.

Badge required for admission.
Official name badges are required for all registrants - O.D.s. Paraoptometrics, as well as Spouses, Exhibit Hall Guests, and Exhibitors. These are issued upon registration. Badges are NOT transferable.

SWCO 2009 badges must be worn for admission to all educational classes and/or the Exhibit Hall. Only O.D. and Paraoptometric registrants will be admitted to the Educational Courses. Spouses who wish to attend lectures must register either as an O.D. or as a Paraoptometric. 

All Conference Guests including doctors, spouses and children must have Guest Name Badges for entry into the Exhibit Hall. Guest Badges are available at the Registration Desk for a fee of $35.00 doctors, spouses and children age over 12. Children under age 12 are admitted free. To replace a lost or misplaced badge, you must present a photo ID and pay a replacement fee of $25.00. Guest Badges will not be accepted for lecture attendance.

Cancellation of Courses
Southwest Council of Optometry continues to strive for excellence in providing eye care specialists the best Continuing Education possible. However, situations and circumstances beyond SWCO’s control may arise, such as emergencies, illness, or speaker’s personal matters. Replacement speakers will be sought, though SWCO reserves the right to cancel courses should a qualified substitute not be found.

Emergency Procedures
In case of emergency, please follow directions of the Convention Center staff and paging system. Additionally, there will be Emergency Medical Services available if needed. 

IMPORTANT NOTE !!

If you arrive at a lecture 10 or more minutes after its scheduled beginning or leave prior to the end of the class, you will NOT receive credit for that class.
