Kathryn Gross-Edelman, ABO, B.A.
Director of Education − Pech Optical

Kathryn Gross-Edelman resides in Sioux City, Iowa where she is Director of Education for Pech Optical Corporation.  She travels the country as an educator and business consultant.  She began her optical career in 1974.  Her educational background stems from the medical technology field.  She is a nationally accredited speaker for the American Optometric Association Para Section, Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO), and the American Board of Opticianry (ABO).  Kathryn has served five volunteer missions to Mexico delivering eyecare and used eyewear to poverty stricken areas.  She is active in the United Methodist Church and is an accredited lay speaker as well as presenter for Women’s and Singles Ministries across the Midwest.

John Edwards, B.S.
Regional Sales Manager, Carl Zeiss Meditec

John Edwards is a Senior Regional Sales Manager for Carl Zeiss Meditec and covers North East Texas.  He has been with Zeiss since 2006.  John has a BS from the US Naval Academy.   He served seven years in the US Marine Corps and many years as a airline pilot before coming to Zeiss.
 
 

Pat Harris, Ph.D.
Biomedical Engineer and Behavioral Science Expert

Dr. Patrick D. Harris has degrees in Electrical Engineering (Missouri), a Ph.D. in Medical Physiology (Northwestern), and postdoctoral experience in basic medical research and in biomedical engineering. Dr. Harris has served as Chairman of the Department of Physiology and Biophysics and as the Founding Director of the Center for Applied Microcirculatory Research at the University Of Louisville School Of Medicine.  Dr. Harris founded and currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer, President, and Chairman of the Board of Micro-Med, Inc., a medical technology development company.  Dr. Harris has provided behavior-sciences training on “human natures” to many church, business, and professional groups over the past 27 years.  His presentation on “Elements of Personality” has been designed for persons whose position requires effective interaction with all types of natures in a public setting. 

Jill Luebbert, CPOT, ABOC
Paraoptometric Trainer

Jill has been involved in paraoptometry for over 20 years.  She is currently on the team at the office of Drs. Bahner and Jacobsen in Fremont, NE. She is an AOA certified Paraoptometric technician and ABO certified optician.Jill has served in the Nebraska Paraoptometric Section through the board positions, the AOA Paraoptometric Section serving through the Council, including chair, is a committee member on the national InfantSEE committee.  She is a Section Editor of Optometry- Journal of the American Optometric Association and a regular contributor to Vision Care Product News.  Jill is also in independent ophthalmic consultant and trainer.  She is a national speaker, giving presentations at several local, state, regional and national programs.

Center Director, Missouri Eye Institute

Dr. McGreal is a graduate of Albright College and the Pennsylvania college of Optometry. He was formerly Chief of Eye services at the Greater Atlantic Health Service in Philadelphia, where he also had a private practice. He was a founding partner in Vision Care Consultants, a managed care company in Pennsylvania. Currently, he is Center Director of the Missouri Eye Institute. He is internationally recognized for his educational endeavors. He is a clinical examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, and is adjunct faculty at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and the University of Missouri, St. Louis School of Optometry. He was the 1998 Missouri Optometrist of the year.

Brandon Moore, B.S.
Sales Manager, A & A Optical

Brandon Moore began working as an optician in 1994 while attending Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas.  In 2001 he accepted a position with A&A Optical Co. as an eyewear sales consultant in the New Mexico/West Texas area. In 2005 Brandon was promoted to the position of Western Regional Manager with A&A Optical. He continues to maintain accounts in West Texas as well as help develop sales consultants in the Western United States. Brandon is currently A&A Optical  National Sales Manager.  He is responsible for managing sales consultants across the country as well as improving educational and development tools.  

Steve Robbins, ABOC, NCLC
Vision Care Technology Chairman, Tyler Junior College

Steve Robbins has served as Department Chair of Vision Care Technology at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas for more than 12 years.  He is the owner of OptiProfessor.com, an optician and paraoptometric education website. Mr. Robbins is ABO and NCLE certified as well as an ABO certified Master of Ophthalmic Optics.
 

Buddy Russell, FCLSA, COMT, LDO
Clinical Instructor, Emory University Eye Center

With over twenty five years experience fitting contact lenses, Buddy is currently an associate of the contact lens service at Emory University Eye Center in Atlanta, Georgia.  Buddy is a clinical instructor in Emory’s Ophthalmic Technology Program and teaches students and ophthalmology resident’s contact lens technology. He has been certified by J.C.A.H.P.O. since 1986 and is a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist. He lectures frequently at national, regional, and state meetings on contact lens related topics.  Buddy has written articles for various publications, two chapters for CLSA’s advanced training manual and is a peer reviewer for the Cornea publication. He is also a contributing editor for CLSA’s Eyewitness journal. His current areas of research include pediatric aphakia and keratoconus. He joined the faculty at TVCI in 2006.

Alex Yoho, ABOC
Professional Education, Hawkins Optical Laboratory

Alex Yoho has worked in Optometric offices, Retail Optical, and Optical Laboratories, since 1974.  Alex is a Master in Ophthalmic Optics certified by ABO.  Having a diverse background in several facets of our industry has qualified Alex to speak at meetings of all three "O"'s from coast to coast and a number of special presentations for Universities.  Currently employed by Hawkins Optical Laboratories in Topeka, Kansas, Alex is charged with employee and customer education, Low Vision Services, R&D, and special projects.
